Chinese for Kids in the Bay Area  

Hello and welcome to this resource guide for families living in the Bay Area who are interested in introducing their children to the Chinese (Mandarin) language. As China’s economic and cultural power expands, many believe that Mandarin is already becoming the lingua franca of the 21^st century and that today’s children will benefit from early exposure to this important language.  Although there are a great number of excellent resources out there, this information is often spread out and difficult to find.  I have designed this resource guide as a launching pad for those with little or no exposure to the Chinese language or bilingual education. Whether you are looking for a bilingual library storytime at your local library, looking for a great bilingual storybook, wanting to try your hand at singing a Mandarin song with your child, or thinking about enrolling your child in one of the many private or public Chinese immersion schools in the area it is my hope that this guide will help you in your quest.
